lyrics

Held captive
In this transient shell
Built by a silent carpenter
Made to crawl to stand only to fall..
Existence - an odyssey
through a realm of escaping light

This can’t be forever
This journey alone
Has made me tired
And I want to go home.
But the child inside
Has to die - in order to survive.

An arduous climb ahead
Slung on my back
Burdens that run deeper
Than the caves on this forsaken isle.
Heavy as the ground,
My shoulders must stay steady.

I am even more aware now..
That every trying soul I meet
Feels the same love, the same frustration, the same darkness
As I do and that’s what’s making this difficult because..
I can’t bare thinking that my reasons to live are
As broken as I am,
Tortured, restless - feel like they don’t mean anything.
So I have to learn to let go of what it is holding me back
And Like the mountains, rivers and the trees
I embrace the winter that is killing me
Or fail my purpose.

This is not goodbye
If you follow me
to the heirloom hills
as fast as we can
Away from this place.
the contrasting dark.
Taking in the sight
Of the distance gained
All that matters is ahead.
